Opening on December 16, 2018, Storybook Dining at Artist Point with Snow White at Disney’s Wilderness Lodge has become one of the most sought-after dining reservations. But $55 plus tax, it does come with a hefty price tag. So, is it worth the cost?
Storybook Dining – Snow White Character Meal
As soon as reservations opened, I hopped online and snagged one for the second day! My husband and kids weren’t able to come with me, so I got to have a girls night out with

Being welcomed into the Enchanted Forest
After checking in, you’ll receive a text once your table is ready. We took that time to take a few photos of Disney’s Wilderness Lodge, which is stunning and adds to that rustic, forest feel.
The experience began as soon as the hostess greeted us at the top of the ramp. She took us on an adventure through the forest, explaining how the character process works, who would be visiting us and reminding us that The Evil Queen expects us to be very dignified.
We may have missed the “dignified” part as we were live streaming and snapping photos of every dang thing!
Setting the atmosphere – Cocktails and Mocktails
It was girl’s night so you know cocktails were on the list of must dos!
Wicked Cocktails
- Enchanted Apple – Skyy Citrus Vodka, DeKuyper Pucker Sour Apple and White Cranberry Juice
- Alchemy – Uncle Val’s Gin Vodka, Agave, Lime and Cucumber
- The Smoking Mirror – Johnnie Walker Black, Wildberry, Lime and Rosemary Smoke
- Evil to the Core – Patron Silver Tequila, Habanero, Blackberry and Orange Juice
- The Antidote – Bacardi Gran Reserve Maestro, Agave and Ginger Beer
- A Brew of Peaches – Buffalo Trace Bourbon, Peach, Raspberry and Brulee Demerara Sugar
I had the Enchanted Apple and had a taste of the Brew of Peaches and Evil to the Core. My Enchanted Apple was my favorite. It was clean, crisp and a balanced flavor. The Evil to the Core was also delicious, but the Brew of Peaches was S-T-R-O-N-G! It’s definitely for those that enjoy bourbon since that was all I could taste.
Charming Mocktails
- Transformation Potion – Lemonade and blue potion
- Through the Forest – Wildberry Monin, Lime Juice with Mint
- Stone Fruit and Berry Breeze – Herbal Tea Infusion
- In the Clouds – Blueberry Monin and Cotton Candy
We didn’t have any of the mocktails, but the Stone Fruit and Berry Breeze stands out to me. I may have to try it next time!
The Beginning – shared appetizers
I wouldn’t say I was an adventurous eater, but I was intrigued by the appetizers. And they didn’t disappoint. The presentation alone set the tone for the rest of the evening. The focal point of each table is the “tree”
- Winter Squash Bisque with a Caramel Lollipop and Granola
- Hunter’s Pie – Chicken, Black Truffle with a Stone Fruit Preserve
- Wicked Shrimp Cocktail with Soy, Miso, Avocado, Thai Chili and Greens
The Winter Squash Bisque was to die for! Never would I have thought I’d like something like that. But Oh em gee – I could have licked the little cauldron. And the Hunter’s Pie was good, but when you add the Stone Fruit Preserve it was magical! I didn’t have the Wicked Shrimp Cocktail, but there were mixed feelings about it from my dinner companions.
The Meat of the Story – Entrees
The entree options are hearty, rustic and a perfect fit as the story continues to build around you.
- “Cottage” Seafood Stew – Shrimp, Bay Scallops, Mussels, Tomato and Fennel
- Royal Prime Rib Roast – with Horseradish Potatoes
,Hay Smoke Carrots, Popover and Jus - A Stroll Through Nature – Butternut Squash,
Arugul , Gnocchi, Sage and Parmesan - Brother’s Grimm Roasted Chicken – Confit Potatoes, Roasted Brussels Sprouts, Apples
and Chestnut Butter - Magic Mirror Slow-Braised Veal Shank – Celery Root Mashed, Wilted Winter Greens and Jus
- Bashful’s Butter-poached Snapper – Root Vegetable Risotto, Wild Mushrooms and Citrus-Butter Sauce
I had a serious internal debate going on between the Royal Prime Rib Roast and the Brother’s Grimm Roasted Chicken… And it had nothing to do with the main dish, it was all about the sides – horseradish potatoes and roasted brussels sprouts. I just adore brussels sprouts, but the horseradish mashed potatoes were calling to me and I’m not a big fan of apples with my savory dish. But once I knew one of the other girls was ordering the prime rib, I committed to the roasted chicken. And I wasn’t disappointed.
The roasted chicken started off a little dry, but after a few bites it was flavorful and juicy. But those veggies stole the show! I would be perfectly happy with just a bowl of them for dinner. We tried to finagle the recipe out of our waitress, Sarah, but she only got us the ingredients which I don’t think were a full list. I’m hoping to try recreating them at home and if I succeed, I’ll share!
I love being able to sample other entrees!
I did get to taste the Horseradish Potatoes and the prime rib. The potatoes were good, but I’m glad I choose the Brussels Sprouts. The Prime Rib melted in your mouth and left it bursting with flavor! The other dishes ordered at our table included the snapper and the seafood stew. I’m not a seafood fan, so I didn’t try either. I do wish I’d snuck a sample of the snapper though.
A Sweet Ending – Shared Desserts
I’m surprised I was able to try any of the desserts because I was so incredibly full. But I did it – ya know all in the name of research.
- Miner’s Treasures – Sponge Cake, Chocolate Gems and Buttercream Icing
- Fairy Tale Gooseberry Pie – Meringue, Gooseberry
- “Poison” Apple – White Chocolate-Apple Mousse with a sour center
- The Hunter’s Gift to the Queen – Crackled Maple Popcorn with Ganache Heart
I don’t know how long I stared at the desserts once they were presented to us, but they were bewitching. I enjoyed the “Poison” Apple and the Fairy Tale Gooseberry Pie. The Apple was sweet, tart and unlike anything, I’ve had before. The Gooseberry Pie had a kick that made me pucker with the first bite. But it quickly became my favorite. The Miner’s Treasures was way too sweet for all of us.
The Hunter’s Gift to the Queen is the last act and the presentation is a wow factor! I wish I had gotten a better video of it, but just know it’s amazing.
Meeting the Characters
The character interaction was fantastic! Each of them was on point and entertaining. You’ll have the chance to meet Snow White, Dopey and Grumpy as they come to your table during your Disney dining experience. Make sure to have your autograph books out and ready to go!
As your evening comes to an end, each group is granted an audience with the Evil Queen for a photo op. And she is utterly wicked – in a positively delightful way!
