Check out it out! The SpongeBob movie trailer just dropped. The SpongeBob Movie: Sponge on the Run will be in theaters May 2020. And trust me, this is one your kids are going to be begging to see.

Guess what? I’ve been keeping another secret! I actually got to see the SpongeBob movie trailer as part of the Geekly Retreat last Friday. We couldn’t tell anyone as we were the first audience to see it beyond the marketing department.
Trailer reaction
I’ve seen SpongeBob shows because my son has watched them, but I’ve never sought them out. Some of the humor just turns my stomach. But I have to admit The SpongeBob Movie: Sponge on the Run looks kind of cute from the trailer.
Still a little gross in parts – Ahem, baby Gary puking on SpongeBob. But I can’t say I haven’t walked around with baby puke on my shoulder before, so I get it.

Here’s where I’m going to get in trouble – I’m not a Keanu Reeves fan… I don’t know why he just doesn’t do it for me. But I know featuring him in the film, even if it’s just as a tumbleweed, will be a huge draw for those that are fans.

The colors do pull me in. I am a huge sucker for anything with bright colors. On the same line, my husband and son, love bright lights and shiny things. That scene as Patrick and SpongeBob arrive at Atlantic City – yeah, that’s them anytime they see bright shiny lights.
Now, I do love the storyline. As a huge pet person, I know I’d be out there searching high and low for my furry family members if they wandered off.
Since my son has been a SpongeBob fan since he was a wee little kid. And now at 12, he still watches the episodes so I’m sure we’ll be seeing this one opening weekend!
