SIX brought down the house on opening night with the power of The Queens.
If you haven’t heard of SIX the Musical, your teens probably have! Walking into the theater, you know you have entered a different world. This is their space. And be happy they are letting you in because SIX is as epic as they think it is!
Presented as a pop concert, SIX is a modern musical about the six wives of England’s Henry VIII. Each wife takes the spotlight to tell their story of suffering to see who is the rightful queen deserving of the crown.
The all-female cast and band brought the house down in a fierce way in Orlando.
Opening night cast:
- Khaila Willcoxon – Catherine of Aragon
- Storm Lever – Anne Boleyn
- Jasmine Forsberg – Jane Seymour
- Olivia Donalson – Anna of Cleves
- Cassie Silva – Katherine Howard
- Gabriela Carrillo – Catherine Parr
I’ve been listening to the SIX soundtrack for the last few days and I am still pondering who my favorite queen was. The power vocals of Khaila Willcoxon (Catherine of Aragon) had me wanting to get up and dance or the emotional performance of Jasmine Forsberg (Jane Seymour) had tears in my eyes. Of course, Storm Lever’s (Anne Boleyn) spunky attitude and vocals had me rooting for her, Cassie Silva (K. Howard) had me believing she was the 10 out of the 3s and Gabriela Carrillo’s (Catherine Parr) kindness was a shining star. And Olivia Donalson’s (Anna of Cleves) performance of “Get Down” had the entire audience cheering and clapping from the moment she sang the first note. I don’t think it’s a choice I want to make.
And by the end of the show – it doesn’t matter which queen was your favorite because the SIX have stolen your heart.
SIX the Musical US tour is only in Orlando for a short time and you can get tickets online at the Dr. Phillips Center. And I suggest you snag them fast because it’s quickly selling out!
The next broadway show coming to Orlando is Hamilton and tickets are on sale now.
