We fell in love with the music from the first Frozen film and expect great things from the Frozen 2 soundtrack. But we’ve heard “Into the Unknown” and not everyone was impressed. Find out how the music from Frozen 2 stands up to the first soundtrack.

I can sing every song from the first Frozen soundtrack without thinking, as soon as the music plays I’m belting out in song. And we all know it’s not just me. “Let it Go” is the universal song that gets everyone singing, even the grumpiest of man.
I wasn’t sure this new soundtrack would have the same effect on fans, but after listening to

Kristen Anderson-Lopez and Robert Lopez did exactly that. They wrote powerful songs that fit Idina’s voice perfectly. And in this movie her voice everything. It’s soulful and whips around you like magic.
But I’m not sure Into the Unknown will be the fan-favorite that Let it Go was. It does have those quiet moments leading up to a burst of power, that we all love to think we can sing, but I don’t believe it’s as relatable as Let it Go. We have all lived with a secret that we’re ashamed or too scared to share. We know how freeing it is once we shed that shame.
Does Jonathan Groff get his moment to shine?
When I announced that I was attending the Frozen 2 press junket the one question I was asked over and over again was “Does Jonathan Groff sing in Frozen 2”.
Y’all – Kristen Bell felt your pain. In her opinion that was the one failure of the original Frozen movie.
I was like, Look, it’s an excellent film. But Jonathan Groff doesn’t sing. So that’s how it failed. But this time, everybody knew what to do. And Jonathan has dare I say… It’s one of the top three moments of the film. – Kristen Bell from the Frozen 2 press junket
So YES! Groff gets his moment and it is probably the funniest moment in the whole film. Even beats out Olaf’s quick quips.
Now is time for some honesty. I wasn’t sold on this moment in the film the first time I saw it. I even said it was weird and should have been shown as the credits were running. Almost like an outtake reel.
But as I sat there watching it the second time around it grew on me. This scene is for us, the parents in the audience, but the kids giggled along with it.
So, if you’re not sold on “Lost in the Woods” the first time around – go watch it again! You just might find yourself LOVING every second of it.
Even Josh Gad, Olaf himself, gives it HUGE props saying it’s the “funniest song in Disney animation history”!

The Next Right Thing – Anna
If you have ever lived through a grief or depression that is crippling this song is an anthem straight to your heart. And encourages you to take one more breath, that next step and eventually you’ll be doing the next right thing. The thing that brings you the joy that you live for.
It is such a powerful song for me personally on every level. I have been there. I didn’t want to continue to live. But I struggled through the darkness and found the light at the end of the tunnel.
Anna and I were connected through this shared pain. And I wish this song had been around at my lowest point. But we have it now and it is on repeat.

Bet this is all ya wanna hear about. How the heck did I get to sing with Josh Gad and Jonathan Groff and what did we sing? Well, I’ll tell ya all about it!
It all happened at the Frozen 2 press junket. There was a moment at the end when I knew we had a connection. Soon we were busting out the 80s ballad “Heaven” by Brian Adams.
And Idina and Kristen joined in… Ok, so really everyone in the room for the Frozen 2 press junket may have sung the same song at the same time. But I know we were having a moment.

Which is my favorite song from Frozen 2?
The music from Frozen 2 is very good. I don’t think I appreciated it the first time around as much as I should have. But I now realize all of the songs have their place and special meaning.
But one song stood out from the first moment I heard it and saw it play out on the big screen at the Dolby Theater.
Show Yourself. It is my new Let it Go. And I’m not sure why more people aren’t talking about it. I don’t know why this song has been overlooked. But don’t! It is by far the best song on the Frozen 2 soundtrack in my opinion.
