Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party kicks off the fall season at Magic Kingdom Park. And this special hard ticketed celebration is a can’t miss event! I’ve got Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party tips that will help you make the most of your time!
Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party Tips
If you gave my family a choice of after-hours parties at Magic Kingdom – They will without a doubt choose Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party. And it’s not just about the trick or treating or low crowds! Their favorite part is the Boo to You Parade.
DO take advantage of entering the Park early.
Guests with a Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party ticket can enter Magic Kingdom Park as early as 4pm. Why not make the most of your time and money by entering the park as early as you can?
DON’T go to the parks earlier in the day.
Save a little cash, by not buying a park ticket for the day of the party! It might be minimal if doing multi-day tickets, but it all helps. I always suggest doing a low key day on Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party days. Hit the pool, check out the fun your resort offers or sleep in and hang out in the room, so you’re refreshed and ready to go when it’s party time.
DO dress up
You can go as elaborate or as simple as you want! But make sure you follow the costume guidelines set by Disney. Check out this post by the Disney Parks Blog for more information on what you can and can’t wear!
DON’T wear something hot and heavy.
It may be fall across the country with cooler weather, but it still feels like summer in Florida! Hot and humid is our signature for most seasons. Make sure your costume or outfit is made for our warm weather. My favorite thing to do is a simple family Disneybound or themed t-shirt and shorts. And make sure to bring clothes for the kids to change into and a bag to put the costume in once they start complaining it’s itchy and hot.
DO bring a bag for trick or treating.
Disney will provide you with a small trick or treat bag, but that will be filled after a few trick or treating spots. Bring an extra bag or backpack to dump the small bag into once it’s full.
DON’T avoid trick or treating if you or someone you’re with has allergies.
Disney is very allergy friendly and that extends to Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party. If someone in your party has food allergies let the Cast Members at the trick or treat stations know and they will give you a blue allergy treat token. When you’re ready take that token to a redemption station and pick out an allergy friendly treat!
DO ride the rides!
Most of your favorite rides and attractions will be open during the party. Take advantage of the lower crowds and hop on your Must Do rides.
DON’T skip the NEW Disney’s Not So Spooky Spectacular Fireworks Show.
Normally, I would suggest riding the popular rides during the fireworks shows due to lower crowds. But not during Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party! Disney introduced a whole new firework show for 2019 and you don’t want to miss this!
The Disney’s Not So Spooky Spectacular is hosted by the Pumpkin King himself, Jack Skellington and follows Mickey, Minnie, Donald and Goofy as they adventure into a frightfully fun haunted house.
Disney’s Not so Spooky Spectacular takes place every party night at 10:15 pm, so add it to your plans!
DO find a front-row spot of the Boo to You Parade.
You’ll never see another parade like the Boo to You Parade. It is by far the BEST parade at Disney World! Your favorite villains have taken over and the stars of the show. Watch them shine and pay close attention to the Grave Diggers.
DON’T go to the first showing of the Boo to You Parade.
Parade times are 9:15 pm and 11:15 pm, but unless you plan on leaving early or watching the parade twice, don’t stress about seeing it at 9:15 pm. The first one is always crowded and can be hard to find a good viewing spot unless you stake it out early.
We always trick or treat, ride rides or take character pictures during the first run. By the time the second showing is gearing up to start we’re ready for a break and find a good seat on the curb for front row viewing.
DO take pictures.
There are multiple magic shots available throughout the park – make the time to do at least a few!
DON’T spend the whole party in line for characters.
Unless you have a goal of getting pictures with every Disney character, I wouldn’t waste my time in hour-long lines for characters. Do a couple or hit the ones with low wait times, but don’t miss out on all the other special happenings at Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party.
If you don’t have your Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party tickets yet, get them quick as they are selling out!
