In the famous words of Walt Disney, It’s kinda fun to do the impossible! My “impossible” moment came in the form of walking the red carpet and attending the premiere of Frozen 2 in Hollywood. So, did the Frozen 2 red carpet experience live up to my expectations, did I rub elbows with any celebs and what did I do afterwards? Read on to find out!
Y’all! I got to walk the red carpet. And surprisingly it was actually red. To say I’m walking on cloud nine after a dream adventure is an understatement.
Achieving that red carpet look
As soon as I found out that there was a chance we would be attending the Frozen 2 red carpet – I had the perfect Disneybounding outfit in mind.
I had just finished watching Downton Abbey and decided to do a 1920’s Olaf theme. I bought the dress, accessories and was ready to go.
Until I started second-guessing EVERYTHING. I felt it was a little costumey looking, so I went back to the drawing board.
And ended up buying seven dresses. Yes, seven. I lost my mind a little bit. But luckily, Amazon has a great return policy.
The dress and shoes I wore were from JCPenney. And my dress was less than my shoes… But my husband picked out the shoes, so I had to go with them. Actually he picked out my dress too. Apparently, he has pretty good taste.
My snowflake necklace and sparkly purse were from Amazon. The necklace was a great length and stood out when paired with the dark blue of the dress. My purse was huge compared to most evening bags. I could fit my phone, extra battery, lipstick and more in it.
I loved everything about my red carpet look, except for the fact that the bedazzled parts of the sleeves set the metal detectors off when heading to check-in. After a few security people made me take off my bracelets and necklace, my savior came over and knew exactly what was going on.
Walking the red carpet
Unfortunately, we arrived later than planned due to traffic. So, we didn’t get as much time as we wanted as they were pushing us along.
But we crept s-l-o-w-l-y down the red carpet and were able to soak it all in. This was a once in a lifetime experience and I wasn’t going to run through because they were being pushy.
It was MY time! And trust me that I was going to make it last as long as I could.
There were photo ops as we walked along the carpet but it was a little tough to get that perfect shot as we had to work around others snagging photos or walking through the photos. But we did pretty dang good! I’m sure all our Disney Parks crowd experience helped us navigate getting photos quickly and successfully.
There was a huge photo opportunity at the end of the carpet that I took advantage of. And as bloggers we found other spots to grab unique photos.
My favorite red carpet moment
There is no denying that every moment I spent on that magical carpet was memorable. It was a dream I didn’t want to wake up from.
But there was one occasion that stands out above all the others.
Yvette Nicole Brown (Lady and the Tramp) was walking on the red carpet when she spotted our group. I watched her face light up as she recognized us. I was floored. Yvette Nicole Brown was excited to see us!
We’d met her earlier in the day and she remembered each and every one of us. And treated us like we were the celebrities taking selfies with everyone.
Hands down the highlight of my night.
Frozen 2 Premiere at the Dolby Theater
In between walking the red carpet and Frozen 2 after-party, we saw the premiere of Frozen 2. And O. M. G. I can’t share yet, but stay tuned for my review later this week!
Frozen 2 after-party event
I never thought I would be talking about attending an after-party. But here we are. Going in I had no clue what to expect. I knew there would be food, but I was surprised that there were activities. And McDonald’s Happy Meals for the kids!
After-party food
I’m not sure what is typical for after-party food but we had a wide variety including hot dogs. Which I thought was great because there were tons of kids and um, some picky adults present company included.
The buffet food was good. Unfortunately, it was difficult to find a table to comfortably eat. But we managed. Not well, but we made it work.
The real stars were the desserts! I adored the Olaf cupcakes and they would be so simple to make at home.
As I mentioned above – there was a McDonald’s Happy Meal station. And there was a “Village Snack Shake” that had a wide variety of Kellogg’s cereal including Apple Jacks, Frosted Flakes and Fruit Loops. All of my son’s favorites. Both of which I thought was pure genius. Perfect for kids of all ages.
Activites at the after-party
It’s not just about food and drinks! There were activity stations set up along the perimeter of the room that had Frozen-themed activities.
From LEGOs to charades, make-overs to ice luge competitions with McDonald’s Frozen 2 toys – they were on point!
I did the ColourPop make-over station that featured Anna and Elsa themed make-up kits. I LOVED the Elsa lipgloss. It is a glittery white frost that added just the shimmer to my lips.
The Frozen 2 collection will be out on November 15, 2019, at 10 am PDT.
Celebrity sightings at the Frozen 2 after-party
So many celebrities! From reality tv to movie stars, we saw them all. And they were so gracious with everyone.
I believe this particular premiere gave us a unique inside view of the celebrities as most had their kids with them. That isn’t something everyone gets to see, especially at a premiere.
I even got to see a parenting moment from Sterling K. Brown that I thought was outstanding. And it made me love him even more. A true stand out.
Because of the kids, I didn’t snag photos with as many as wanted but check out the ones I did get!
Did the Frozen 2 red carpet experience live up to my expectations?
Yes and no, but mostly yes.
I wish I had prepared myself better. I had opportunities to get more pictures, but I was nervous to approach anyone.
This was a learning experience and I do feel that I learned a ton! And I will know exactly what to do and what to expect the next time… And I do mean the next time because I won’t let this be the end of this journey!
I loved every minute I was there. It truly was an epic dream come true and I’m so grateful for the experience.
I will be sharing more from Frozen 2 soon, so keep your eyes peeled! And get your tickets to see the film on November 22, 2019!
