The Walt Disney Company has incorporated a new way to make life easier when visiting Walt Disney World. Mobile ordering! And it can be done in the palm of your hand. No more waiting in a L-O-N-G line for that coveted Dole Whip. So, how does it work? Find out everything you need to know about Disney World mobile ordering here!

Introduction to mobile ordering at Walt Disney World
When visiting Disney World we can do just about everything on our mobile devices. Buy Disney tickets, open our resort hotel room door and now order food from almost every quick-service (AKA counter-service restaurants) in the parks! Talk about convenient.
What Is Disney mobile ordering?
The Mobile Ordering function is simply an addition that has been made to the My Disney Experience app. You can order food and drinks using the app from anywhere in the park.
The idea is that it will save you time by allowing you to order food as your waiting in line for your next ride or as you’re walking to the next land and pick it up when it’s convenient for you.
It also cuts down on the traffic standing in the traditional lines to order or pick up their food. We all have prayed we don’t spill or drop our tray as we tried to maneuver around the crowds with a tray full of food and drinks! For me – it’s one of the most stressful times at a theme park! So mobile ordering has become my lifeline.
How do you access mobile ordering?
The mobile ordering function is a part of the My Disney Experience mobile app for Disney World. The app is available for download on the Apple App Store as well as Google Play for any android devices.
I highly recommend downloading the mobile app BEFORE your Walt Disney World vacation! Not only can you use it for mobile ordering, but you can schedule Fastpass+, check in to your resort hotel room and so much more.
Directly from the home screen. In the menu section on the app.
How do you use Disney mobile ordering
Using the mobile ordering function is so simple. All you need to do is ensure you have the app pulled up on your phone. You will see “skip the line – order from or your phone” or you’ll have to click the three lines on the bottom right, select “mobile food orders” and click “create new order”. Choose which quick-service restaurant you want and select “order food”. You will be able to make your food and drink selections from the menu items listed.
Click order food. Select which menu options you’d like to order.
From there the app will give you a time slot to choose from or sometimes it will also just say that you need to arrive anytime between now and when the park closes.
Make sure to review your order thoroughly before placing it!
The app will prompt you to pay for your order using a debit/ credit card or your Disney Dining Plan. Keep in mind, you will NOT be able to use your MagicBand to pay or charge it to your room.
Picking up your mobile order
When you arrive at the restaurant you will select “I’m here, prepare my order” on your My Disney Experience app. in which your order will then be prepared. You will get a notification when your order is ready instructing you to head to the pick up line. The pick up line is usually off to one side, so you don’t have to get in the regular lines.
I don’t recommend selecting the I’m Here button until you are actually physically at the restaurant, the food is usually prepared rather fast.
This is great because you don’t have to worry about your food sitting after being prepared before you get there, it will be nice and fresh without the trouble of waiting in line.
Where Can It Be Used?
The Disney Mobile Ordering function can be used at any of the Walt Disney World Resort theme parks quick-service restaurants.
The Mobile Ordering feature can only be used at quick-service dining options in Magic Kingdom, Disney’s Hollywood Studios, EPCOT, Animal Kingdom. Also, select resort hotels and D-Luxe Burger in Disney Springs have started offering mobile ordering.
And mobile ordering is available at Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge in Disneyland, so I suspect it will be coming to Batuu in Disney World. Don’t expect it right after it opens, but probably a month or two after the opening craze.

But trust me, you won’t be at a shortage of places to eat, because there are plenty of options including Cosmic Rays Starlight Diner, Woody’s Lunch Box and Satu’li Canteen.
Can you use mobile ordering at Disney with allergies?
Yes and no. The basic allergy menu is available when using mobile ordering. And if that is what you normally use when dining at a quick-service restaurant then you should be good to go. But if you or someone in your party has severe or uncommon allergies – order the traditional way and ask to speak to a chef.
Select “Allergy Friendly” for the basic allergy menu options. Some of the most common allergies are listed with select choices.
Personally, when dealing with allergies, I recommend skipping mobile ordering when dining.
I love mobile ordering. It’s simple to use and saves you valuable time. No more spending 20-30 minutes waiting in line to place your order. Mobile ordering has put the “quick” back in quick-service!
