Teenager Reagan Willis (Agudong) has one dream – to play soccer like her hero, Alex Morgan. Her bedroom is a shrine to all things Alex, including a life-size poster of the Olympic gold medalist. Yet in the Willis house, Reagan lives in the shadow of her prep football superstar brother, Logan. When Reagan fails to make the cut of the premiere local soccer club team and is humiliated by her rival Claire, she’s certain her ship has sailed. But after accidentally hitting her head, Reagan’s poster of Alex Morgan suddenly comes to life and everything changes! ~ Warner Bros Entertainment
Alex & Me Movie Review
As a mother of a tween almost teen daughter, I see the struggles she faces everyday trying to fit in. Alex & Me shows young girls and boys that you don’t have to fit in to belong. Sometimes your place is standing out and being different than those around you.
Believing in yourself isn’t something that is always easy, especially after not making the cut whether it be for a school team or even a test. But Alex & Me teaches that if even after “failure”, if you believe in yourself great things can happen.
I truly believe that if you believe in yourself that you can do great things. (Siena on phone interview)
As many moms and dads know it can be tough to make sure you’re giving each child the right amount of attention. Alex & Me brings it to light and sets up the perfect opportunity for families to have a discussion. Sometimes all it takes is a simple ice cream date for teens to feel special.
We simply adored this film and I know you will too. It’s a wonderful family movie that will open the lines of communication along with showing kids that believing in yourself leads to awesome achievements.
Alex & Me will be available on Blu-ray (SRP $24.98), DVD (SRP $19.98) and Digital (SRP $14.99).
